CEO and Co-founder, Stansberry Asset Management
Prior to joining Stansberry Asset Management, Erez Kalir co-founded Sabretooth Capital, an event-driven fund that invested in distressed credit and equities, and managed just under $1 billion in assets for some of America’s most highly-regarded entrepreneurs, families, and endowments. He also worked at Eton Park Capital Management, a large hedge fund spun out of Goldman Sachs, as the first analyst hired into the Special Situations Group.
Erez’s experience includes time spent as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Co., where he was an early member of the bankruptcy and restructuring practice; a Special Counsel to FCC Chairman Bill Kennard; and a law clerk on the Federal Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in Manhattan, a court that oversees complex bankruptcies, commercial law disputes, and sovereign debt litigation.
Erez holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, where he was a senior editor of the Law Journal and a Coker Fellow; an MSc. with distinction (highest honors) from Magdalen College, Oxford, where he studied biology on a Rhodes Scholarship; and an A.B. (highest honors) from Stanford University where he majored in English and biology. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Young President’s Organization Manhattan Chapter, the New York Economic Club, and the Atlas 400. Erez has been an invited investment presenter at the Ira Sohn Conference and the Greenwich Roundtable, and named to Institutional Investor’s “Hedge Fund Rising Stars” list.
Erez lives in New York but is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, which he still considers home.
